Busy, busy, busy

This is a busy time for the range.  Here is what is happening:

Sunday, June 23. RGV Shooters has a Carbine Match this Sunday, June 23.  Everyone is invited to come and shoot.  Bring a friend who might be interested in shooting a competition at some time.  You get the fever when you watch the shooters enjoying the competition and friendship of fellow gun guys and gals.

Everyone usually goes out to eat afterward (Dutch treat) to complain about the targets that move by themselves, ammo that flies crooked and distraction of the earth's rotation that are responsible for bad shots.

Ya gotta love their motto:  Women will want you...  Men will want to BE you!  For women members change the gender around.

Saturday Bowling Pin Competition.  The first competition was last week and the shooters had a ball.  Competition starts at 1 p.m. and continues until 3ish.  The charge is $10.00 per person.  The top three get prizes!!!

Saturday the 29th  This is a reminder to register for the Basic Handgun Class.  The RGV Shooters are holding a class Saturday the 29th from 8 a.m. sharp! to noon.  Because of the popularity of this course, the Club is holding them on a regular basis.  They fill up fast so reserve a space now.  This class is highly recommended for shooters who would like to do competitive shooting.  It is the first step to learning the basics of how to handle your firearm.

June 29th is also the Concealed Handgun Class.  You don't need to register for this class, just show up bright and early.  You may bring your own firearm to qualify or rent one from the range.  Review the webpage because you can do some of the paperwork before hand.

In the last year we had incidences in the U.S. where folks have used their firearm to defend their property and ended up in jail. Example:  One man shot a person driving away with his car.   Another example is someone who shot bad guys through his door.  This was because they did not understand the laws in their state.  This course will inform you.  Protecting yourself legally  isn't as simple as Mr. Biden suggests.  Learn the law!
